THE BUZZ ABOUT COWBOY MOUNTED SHOOTING IN GOLDENDALE |
|
A very special "thanks" to all of
you for your wonderful comments. You guys were wonderful guest
and we appreciate you coming to Goldendale for the Washington State
Mounted Shooters Northwest Regional Championship on August 11th -
13th, 2006.
It was an absolute pleasure and
honor to promote the Bishops Golden Summer Rendezvous and work with
Kenda Lenseigne and the Washington State Mounted Shooters to
make Goldendale's first Cowboy Mounted Shooting
Association event a success! Kenda's professionalism and
unwavering dedication is unmatched and the WSMS are very
lucky to have her on your team...especially, the way she
shoots!!! We truly enjoyed having the Oregon Mounted Shooting
Association attend our event as well and hope y'all come back next
year...and bring a competitor with you :-) Many thanks to
all the competitors who traveled hundreds of miles to come to
Goldendale. YOU ARE INCEDIBLE! I don't know about you...but
I believe Goldendale is a "diamond in the ruff" and we
welcome you to come back anytime!
There are so many people here in
Goldendale to thank...I don't even know where to begin. The City
of Goldendale administration and Council for giving me the "green
light" to pursue this event, the Klickitat County
Commissioners, Building and Grounds administration and the
Klickitat County Fair Board for "making it happen"...and for all of our
sponsors and behind the scene folks who believed in me.
Please remember our sponsors when you pass by Goldendale during your
travels. Special thanks to Javier Short and Jim Allyn from
Allyn's Building Center for making sure I had everything I
needed for a successful event. Many, many thanks to
Edgar Holbrook and Daniel Lefever from Bishops Towing and Recovery for stepping
up to the plate and agreeing to be the Title Sponsor for the
Bishops Golden Summer Rendezvous.
The real "key players" for
this event were the balloon setters...YOU WERE AWESOME!!!
Thank you very much for working so very hard and making this event
a complete success. Without you...the show would not have gone
on...and my heartfelt thanks go to each and every one of you!!!
All you Cowboy Mounted Shooters
are incredibly talented and watching you perform was a real
treat. I/we look forward to your return next year!!! Keep
us in mind when you firm up your 2007 calendar...:-)

The Mounted Shooters were AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I took my 7 year old daughter, 5 year old son and 15 year old cousin and they loved it! It was a well organized event and VERY entertaining! Great job. Rosa Duncan, Century 21 Columbia Crest Goldendale |
Isn't that Lorraine {Reynolds} incredible? She made sure everything possible was done to make it a successful event. I am so glad ya'll had a good time and we really hope the mounted shooters will return to Goldendale. The crowds will grow I'm sure as people learn what a wonderful event it is. I was only able to make the Friday show because I had a school reunion in Seattle on Saturday, however, my wife and daughter attended every day and as soon as I returned they wanted to know when you guys were coming back. It sounds easy. Ride a horse and shoot a few balloons. Holy smoke. That is one difficult sport. Best regards, Mark Sigfrinius, Mayor City of Goldendale |

The City of Goldendale, The hospitality Cowboy Mounted Shooters were shown from the minute we arrived in Goldendale was incredible. I have never seen a town put so much effort welcoming and sponsoring a Cowboy Mounted Shooting event. Every where you looked there was a ‘Welcome Mounted Shooters’ sign in some form or another. When we entered a business we were greeted with smiles, everyone knew who we were. The success of the event started with Lorraine Reynolds. Her genuine enthusiasm and planning talents were appreciated by every shooter. The people, business owners, beautifully kept grounds and even the awesome showers (more important that one might think after all day on a horse!) was talked about throughout the weekend. We had shooters from TX, AZ, and CA commenting it was one of the best Regional shoots in the Country. The City of Goldendale started a reputation that has shooters looking forward to an even bigger 2007 Regional competition. Ya’ll have a lot to be proud of. From the bottom of my gun barrel and heart, Thank you, Lana Martin President - Oregon Mounted Shooting Association Hillsboro, OR |
| We
wanted the town of Goldendale to know what a great time we had at the
North Pacific Regional Shoot last weekend. Your fairgrounds are
top notch and the people working there did a great job. They kept
the arena and all the grounds in excellent condition all weekend. Lorraine Reynolds did an outstanding job in organizing, promoting and getting sponsors for this event, it was a huge success and a good time was had by all. Lorraine is a true treasure to Goldendale and we wish she lived closer to our home town! Thank you to all that sponsored this event, we really appreciate all of your help and donations, it really helps to have that extra incentive of great prizes and cash with the cost of everything these days (diesel) We hope to come back to your town for another shoot soon. Thank you again, Cheri and Vayle Johnson Wenatchee, Wa. |

I would like to thank the
community of Goldendale for the fabulous time we had last week-end at
the CMSA Cowboy Mounted Shooting Regional Championship. I was a
contestant. I have been participating in this event for 4 years now and
have traveled to shoots all around the The cooperation Kenda had with the Community Director, Lorraine Reynolds, was fantastic. I know how challenging it is to hold a function like this one especially when some of the main players do not live locally. I know Kenda and her group could not have done such a wonderful job without Now for the balloon setters……….. I want to give a great big THANK YOU to the groups that helped with setting balloons. We could not have our sport run smoothly without all of those legs. Another big thank you to the people that helped keeping the air compressors going. I know there was a little trouble with one but you would not have known it because it was taken care of so smoothly. Usually when we attend these shoots we are kept so busy with the competition that it is hard to leave the facility and visit the town. This time because things ran so smoothly we had a nice break in the afternoon. We had time to relax and go into Goldendale and look around. The whole town was very friendly and seemed happy to have us there. Please pass this on to all that were involved and we are looking forward to a great time next year. Thank you again. Sincerely, Cindy Griggs President |
| From
the moment I arrived in Goldendale, I could tell this was a town that
was excited to see us. From the signs and marquee, to the
wonderful people that helped out doing whatever they could to make this
all run smoothly, Goldendale and it's people are like no other. I don't compete, but help out with the Washington State Mounted Shooters, and this was an event to remember. I think a lot of us were worried that we would be over-heated in Goldendale, but not only was the weather good, so was the layout of the fairgrounds and the people helping us get set up and make this event work. Lorraine Reynolds was instrumental in all this, and one of my favorite moments was when she came out and got the chance to shoot a balloon at Friday's opening ceremony. I also enjoyed getting the chance to go out to dinner with the sponsors on Thursday evening, and could tell then that this was something the whole town was excited about. My thanks to all the residents of Goldendale, for their enthusiasm, help, and generosity. Without all of you this wouldn't have happened, and we hope you all enjoyed it enough to let us come back in the future. Sincerely, Julie M. Grizzle Ashford, WA. |
| Your organization was the most
organized, professional, and well mannered group of people we have ever
had at the fairgrounds. You are all welcome back ANYTIME. Anita
